This is a proverb derived from a Plato quote that says “Our need will be the real creator”. The last two years and the tremendous upheaval to work and business have been stressful to say the least. Many companies however have quickly created alternative operational infrastructures. These alternatives include Remote and Hybrid work options which aid in flexibility for Talent as well as contributing to maintaining productivity. The creation of these alternative infrastructures has also aided in overhead reductions; this is an advantage that can’t be overlooked. Even after the pandemic subsides, and hopefully disappears forever, it may be smart to keep both the traditional and alternative infrastructures in play. Make it an easy pivot from one to the other, and constantly improve them for maximum efficiency and reward. Use them both as a tool for Talent Attraction and Retention by leveraging the strengths of each as they contribute to the situation. Use the savings from overhead reductions to invest in Training, Learning and Wellness for your current and future Talent.
